A Heart for a Heart

Recently a friend of mine had open heart surgery. Knowing that her chest will be very tender and in need of protection I have made her a Heart protection pillow.

I'm hoping this will give her comfort as well as protection.

Wonderful Willing Workers

We have had the pleasure of the company of two WWOOFERS this past week. Markus (R) from Germany and Curtis(L) from Canada.

They have cleared down our vegetable patch, weeded, hedge trimmed, removed shrubs and trees, washed the windows and more. We really appreciate the work these energetic, enthusiastic young folk do for us.

Our house will seem very empty when they leave.

Fresh as a Daisy

Cathy made this fresh, pretty quilt with repro 1930s fabrics.

The borders are a nice soft linen type finish fabric. I haven’t quilted a fabric like this before and I must say it quilted up lovely.Super cute mini Hexies in the corners.

Cathy asked for the quilting to be kept nice and soft.

Perfect for this quilt.

Hearts Entwined

Jenny from Romany Quilter gave me her Heart themed quilt to stitch. I follow Jenny's blog. She had a plan last year to complete a stash of UFO's. This quilt was worked on during year so I watched it all come togther.I was delighted when she asked me to quilt it.

Such a pretty quilt. I cross hatched all the Nine patches and the checkered border, feathered around the hearts and Mc Dazzled the border.

Aren't these heart blocks pretty? Jenny stitched them and then coloured them in.

Jenny said she doesn't care to applique long vines so she cleverly used wide Rick Rac in the borders.

Jenny tells me this quilt is destined for the bed in their caravan. I hope she has many sweet dreams sleeping under it.

An easy start to the New Year...

For a nice start to my new patchwork quilting year I made something for me.

I have called this quilt "Proud as" because of all the bright Peacock colours. When I set out to buy fabric for this quilt I hadnt planned to use colours like this but the feature fabric just leapt off the shelf at me, I went a bit crazy with feathers on this one, I love the way the feathers on the blue double flying geese shapes look a bit like a peacock tail.

The pattern for the Walk About quilt can be purchased online at Grizzly Gulch Gallery

It's a super easy fun quilt to make. If you ever need to make a quilt in a hurry use this pattern. For all you QOV makers this would be a super pattern.

Thanks for popping by
